Beachside apartment.
The brief for this beachside apartment was to transform an architecturally modest open-plan space into a home with distinct zones for cooking, dining, and relaxing - all while layering texture and detail to bring warmth and character.
The process began with a refurbishment of the existing kitchen, where timber veneer joinery and open shelving were introduced to add depth and visual interest to an otherwise minimal white scheme. This set the foundation for a palette that balanced functionality with natural texture.
In the living and dining areas, furniture was designed with both proportion and flexibility in mind. Custom sofas and chairs were tailored to suit the compact footprint, while rattan dining chairs at either end of the table were selected to double as casual lounge seating when needed. Soft, tactile layers further enhanced the sense of comfort: linen cushions, a leather ottoman, and a textured wool rug softened the hard architectural lines. Tribal artworks and statement pendants completed the scheme, anchoring each zone while adding personality and atmosphere to the open plan.
