We were engaged to reimagine a dated rural cottage, transforming it into a distinctive luxury Airbnb retreat designed to capture attention and elevate its market appeal.

The transformation began with the exterior, where the cottage was painted in a striking black, a bold contemporary gesture that creates a dramatic contrast against the surrounding green landscape and immediately sets the tone for the experience within.

Inside, we drew inspiration from the natural environment, layering an earthy, tonal palette that reflects the colours of the countryside framed by the home's large picture windows. The interiors were designed to feel grounded, warm and inviting, with a strong connection to place.

Working within a modest budget, we took a considered and resourceful approach, repurposing existing furniture found on site, alongside carefully sourced vintage and antique pieces from local dealers. These were thoughtfully reworked and layered to create a space that feels curated rather than constructed.

A collection of vintage artworks were grouped to create moments of visual interest and personality, complemented by an eclectic mix of accessories. Soft furnishings including beautiful linen bedlinen, cushions and throws were introduced to add texture, comfort and a sense of understated luxury.

Beyond the physical transformation, we collaborated with the owners to refine the property's branding, website and social media presence, ensuring the home was presented cohesively and compellingly to its target audience.

The result is a characterful and highly considered retreat, one that feels authentic, atmospheric and uniquely positioned within the market.
