Our Initial Consultation is designed to answer all of this, and to leave you with something tangible, practical and genuinely useful, rather than simply a pleasant conversation.
What the consultation includes
The process begins before we even step inside your home. Once your consultation is booked, we will send through a short questionnaire designed to capture your vision, requirements, lifestyle, likes and dislikes. It gives us insight into how you live and what you are hoping to achieve, allowing us to arrive informed and ready to make the most of our time together.
During the 90-minute in-home consultation, we walk through the spaces you would like to address and discuss how they function day to day: what is working well, what feels unresolved, and where the opportunities lie.
There is no pressure to commit to a larger project. The consultation is intentionally exploratory and collaborative, and many clients find it brings a level of clarity they had been struggling to achieve on their own.
During the visit, we typically cover:
- The spaces you would like to improve and how they relate to the rest of the home
- How you live day to day, and what the space needs to support
- Existing elements worth retaining or building upon
- Your personal style, preferences and priorities
- Budget considerations and realistic expectations
- Project timing and any practical constraints
What you receive afterwards
Following the consultation, you will receive a written summary document tailored specifically to your home. This is not a generic checklist, but a considered set of recommendations covering areas discussed during the visit: from furniture and layout to finishes, colour, lighting and styling direction.
Alongside the written recommendations, you will also receive curated visual references that help communicate the overall direction proposed for the space. These are practical and refined references intended to convey tone, texture, proportion and materiality, rather than overly styled mood boards.
Together, the written advice and visual references provide a clear sense of direction and enough confidence to begin making decisions, whether you choose to continue working with us or move forward independently.
Who the Initial Consultation suits
The Initial Consultation is ideal for homeowners at the beginning of their design journey, those considering a renovation but still refining the scope, or anyone wanting professional guidance on a specific space without committing to a full design service.
It is also the natural starting point for clients who later engage us for a Room Edit, Design Edit or Signature Styling Experience. Having already spent time understanding your home, lifestyle and priorities, the design process tends to move forward with greater ease and confidence from the outset.
